🎵 Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing...

What is a Fount? Fountain? Font? Today we define three words, which are distinct but have common root meanings in terms of plumbing and source:

• Fountain: 
  (a) A flow of liquid or other substance that is forcefully propelled into the air. 
  (b) ​A source or supply of something valuable.

• Fount: 
  (a) A source of something desirable such as a moral or psychological attribute or material supplies. 
  (b) An abbreviation of the word fountain.

• Font: 
  (a) A large bowl holding water for the practice of baptism. From the Latin word fons, which means spring or fountain (a source).
  (b) A typeface, adhering to a specified size and style, for printing letters, numbers, and symbols. From the French word fonte, which means a casting.

As we know, the source and conduit of every good thing is God himself:
— "We love because he first loved us" (1 John 4:19 esv). 
— "His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence" (2 Peter 1:3 ESV).

And with regards to the Font of Baptism: Have you engaged? If you want Jesus to be the source of all that is good (love, power, etc.) in your life, but you haven't participated in the ceremony of water baptism, consider doing so.
